Crime Crime Crime do like you always do raise property tax.
Memphis is still living off the fame of Elvis and the Legacy of Beale Street. The city needs visionaires who have ideas for redevelopment. Atlanta needs to be the blueprint that Memphis should follow. ATL had the Olympics which Memphis isn’t ready for, hosted several international soccor games which help to land the city a professional soccer team.
Even now Atlanta is still changing and converting old spaces and un-used buildings to new mix-use retail apartments. And, the people in the city need to stop doing dumb stupid stuff that make Memphis look bad.
Everybody fussing about crime but every big city got crying All the southern cities around us got crime … We need something else to bring the people in we had the music fest but they’re constantly changing it up and they need to bring it back to the riverfront somehow and we also need to invest in newer things because Elvis and Beale Street ain’t going to keep the people coming forever

OMG that Mayor’s response at 1:08 displays his weak position and his weak character. Crime is the problem, not a change in markets. Only losers call this kind of thing and opportunity.
